FUNDING BOOST FOR HEALTH IN THE MYALL LAKES

Posted June 18th, 2024

Member for Myall Lakes, Tanya Thompson has secured $180 million in funding for healthcare facilities across Myall Lakes as part of the 2024-25 NSW Budget.

Mrs Thompson said the $180 million Lower Mid North Coast Service project merges the Manning Hospital Redevelopment Stage 2 project and Forster Public hospital project.

“This funding means the Manning Base Hospital redevelopment can move forward and we can recommence the planned investment towards public health services in Forster-Tuncurry.

“Health Infrastructure is working to deliver Stage 2 of the Manning Hospital Redevelopment to provide patients, carers, and staff with new modern hospital facilities to help meet the health needs of our community,” said Mrs Thompson.

Despite the positive developments, Mrs Thompson will continue to advocate for greater attention and funding to address the healthcare needs of the Great Lakes area and right across regional NSW.

“I am pleased the Labor Government has acknowledged the needs of the Myall Lakes community and made this crucial healthcare investment, that the community and I have been advocating for,” she concluded.
