Club Taree has been recognised for its exceptional community contributions as finalists at the ClubNSW 2024 Clubs & Community Awards, which were held on the 6th of June in Sydney.
Tanya Thompson, Member for Myall Lakes, attended the awards ceremony and said that the Clubs & Community Awards recognise the outstanding social contributions made by clubs in their local communities.
Club Taree earned finalist positions in an impressive four categories: ‘Heart of the Community’, ‘Mental Wellbeing’, ‘Health Care’, and ‘Fostering Grassroots Sport’.
“While the club did not secure a win in these categories, being finalists in the most award categories on the night is a huge accomplishment,” said Mrs Thompson.
“Club Taree’s recognition across multiple categories shows the impact they have on our community,” said Mrs. Thompson. “The Club Taree Community Team dedicates immense effort to support numerous community projects, initiatives, events, partnerships, and fundraisers.”
Among their initiatives are ‘Le Tour de Taree’, the ‘Club Taree Mental Health Challenge’, and ‘Not All Heroes Wear Capes’.
Since the inception of the Club Taree Community Team, they have volunteered an astounding 10,231 hours and raised $934,198 for community causes.
Paul Allan, CEO of Club Taree said, “I am so proud of, and thankful for my team, whose individual and joint contributions to the initiatives of the Club Taree Community Team continue to not only be recognised and applauded, but also emulated across the state.
“Each year I am inspired by the efforts of my team, in the genuineness, their willingness to have a go, their lets do this attitude and above all their combined senses of team and community.”
