Manning River Rugby Club have successfully secured a $4,070.41 grant under the NSW Local Sport Grant Program for new training gear, Member for Myall Lakes, Tanya Thompson announced this week.
Mrs Thompson visited Taree Rugby Park to personally deliver the exciting news to club members.
“This funding will provide new training equipment to encourage participation at training and ensure safe and appropriate training aids are used,” said Mrs Thompson.
“Our local sports clubs are the backbone of our community, and it’s great see that the Manning River Rugby Club will benefit from this program.”
Manning River Rugby Club Secretary, Keely Holden expressed the significance of the grant, “This grant will allow us to improve our training program and encourage participation, particularly targeted at our highly successful women’s program and increasing junior participants at our club.”
“Specialised training equipment will not only improve the skills of our players but also ensure they are learning the safest techniques for play,” said Keely.
