Member for Myall Lakes Tanya Thompson has welcomed confirmation through Budget Estimates that the Tuncurry Slipway project is progressing towards a mid-2027 delivery.
The NSW Government confirmed $12.2 million has been allocated to the project, with a further $1.6 million to address contaminated land at the site.
Mrs Thompson said it was good to finally have some clarity around the project and its timeframe.
“Locals have been waiting a long time to see progress on the Tuncurry Slipway, so I was pleased to get some clear answers through Budget Estimates” Mrs Thompson said.
“The slipway is an important piece of infrastructure, supporting local boat owners, marine businesses and our local economy.
“With the funding confirmed and planning underway, the focus now needs to be on getting the work done and keeping the project on track for mid-2027.
“I’ll continue to keep a close eye on its progress and make sure our community is kept informed as the project moves from planning into delivery.”
