Member for Myall Lakes, Tanya Thompson, has welcomed the rollout of virtual urgent care across NSW but says local communities deserve answers on when the promised Forster Tuncurry Health Facility will be delivered under the Lower Mid North Coast Health Service Project.
Mrs Thompson said, “While virtual healthcare can help, it’s no substitute when you need hands-on treatment or don’t have access to technology.”
“Manning Base Hospital and our local GPs are under extreme pressure; the Forster Tuncurry Health Facility will take the load off emergency departments and assist locals in accessing timely care close to home.”
Mrs Thompson said regional communities should not be left waiting while the focus remains on improvements in Sydney.
“The Minns Government needs to stop announcing new services elsewhere and start delivering on what they’ve already promised here in the Myall Lakes.”
She has called on Health Minister Ryan Park to provide a clear timeline for the project and confirm it remains a priority.
