THOMPSON BACKS COMMUNITY CALLS FOR INCREASED BUSINESS SUPPORT
Members of the Taree and Macleay Valley business communities have written to the Minister for Recovery and Small Business, Janelle Saffin, requesting a meeting and increased category D funding for our business communities.
Member for Myall Lakes, Tanya Thompson, has again come out in support of impacted businesses, reiterating the need to give our communities hope that they can make it through this weather event.
“Last week’s announcement of Category D funding for primary producers will bring relief for some but we must now ensure small businesses across our region receive similar assistance,” Mrs Thompson said.
The NSW Opposition has repeatedly called for $50,000 Category D funding to be made available for businesses across the entire Mid North Coast and Hunter region.
Mrs Thompson said that many of the businesses impacted across the Myall Lakes electorate have been the backbone of their community for generations.
“It’s been eight long weeks and our businesses are running low on cash flow and reserves. Let’s get this done.”
