TANYA THOMPSON KICK START SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

Member for Myall Lakes, Tanya Thompson has announced the 2024 winner and runners-up of her Tanya Thompson Kick Start Scholarship, an initiative that recognises young achievers in the Myall Lakes.

This year’s $5,000 scholarship has been awarded to Bonnie McMaster of St Clare’s High School, a very resilient and high achieving student.

Additionally, two students have been selected as runners-up for their accomplishments and will each receive a $250 Officeworks voucher.

“The calibre of the applicants for the Kick Start Scholarship was outstanding,” said Mrs Thompson.

“With 18 submissions, it was no easy task choosing a winner from such a brilliant group of young individuals.

“Bonnie is a very deserving student; she aspires to attend university and study Psychology or criminal law, this scholarship will provide her with a head start in achieving her goals.

The scholarship package, valued at $5000.00, includes a $500 Dymocks voucher, $1500 Officeworks voucher, an all-expenses-paid day trip to NSW Parliament House for an MP brunch, contributions to TAFE or school fees, and various vouchers for school equipment, shoes, and uniforms.

“The Kick Start Scholarship is an annual initiative and I encourage eligible students in the Myall Lakes electorate to apply next year,” said Mrs Thompson.
