I was saddened to hear of the accident involving six members of the Kundle Moto Rural Fire Brigade, who were injured in a fire truck rollover while responding to an emergency call on Sunday afternoon.
My thoughts are with these volunteers, their families, and their fellow brigade members during this difficult time.
I would like to also thank the Ambulance Paramedics, Manning Great Lakes Police, Taree VRA Rescue Squad, NSW Fire and Rescue, and the additional NSW RFS Brigades who attended the scene. Their quick response undoubtedly supported all those involved.
I am relieved to hear that three of the injured volunteers have already been discharged, and I wish a full and speedy recovery to the three still receiving care. RFS Mid Coast District Manager Superintendent, Ugo Tolone and his team are ensuring that all those affected receive necessary support.
This incident reminds us of the risks our emergency service workers take every day to keep us safe. We are incredibly lucky to have people like them serving in our electorate. Our community’s well wishes are with the injured volunteers and their families.
