NIGHT WORK TO COMMENCE IN GLENTHORNE

Posted March 19th, 2025

Tanya Thompson, Member for Myall Lakes, welcomes upcoming night work on Manning River Drive, Old Bar Road, and the Taree Offramp, Glenthorne, as part of efforts to improve the road surface and enhance safety for motorists.

Mrs Thompson said Transport for NSW will carry out road patching and maintenance work to ensure a smoother and safer journey for all road users.

“Work will take place on Monday 24 March and Tuesday 25 March from 6:00 pm to 5:00 am, with the project expected to be completed over two nights, weather permitting.”

Motorists and residents may experience some disruptions, including the presence of workers and construction vehicles, traffic controllers, directional signage, and stop/slow traffic control measures. Temporary lane closures will be in place, reducing the speed limit to 40 km/h, and some periodic noise from machinery and equipment may be noticeable.

A detour will be in place on Tuesday 25 March for all southbound motorists traveling to Taree via Manning River Drive. Drivers will need to use the Taree Offramp and the U-turn bay on the Pacific Highway, Glenthorne, before rejoining their route.

Efforts will be made to minimise disruptions to the local community, including managing noise levels, turning off machinery when not in use, and completing work in stages along the road.

“I encourage residents and motorists to plan ahead and follow all traffic signs and directions to ensure safety for both road users and workers,” Mrs Thompson said.

“This maintenance work is essential to improving our local roads. I appreciate the community’s patience while these necessary improvements take place.”
