NIGHT ROADWORKS ON THE LAKES WAY TO IMPROVE SAFETY AND ROAD SURFACE

Posted April 16th, 2025

Member for Myall Lakes, Tanya Thompson, has welcomed upcoming night maintenance works on The Lakes Way, Darawank, aimed at improving safety and road conditions for the local community and visitors.

Transport for NSW has confirmed that Mid-Coast Council, on its behalf, will carry out essential road maintenance works, including patching and line marking, between Aquatic Road and Failford Road. The work will commence on the night of Monday 28 April and is expected to be completed across two nights, weather permitting.

To minimise disruption, the works will take place between 7pm and 5am, with traffic control and reduced speed limits in place during this time.

“This section of road is heavily used, so I’m pleased to see this maintenance work going ahead to keep it safe and in good condition,” Mrs Thompson said.

“While there will be some minor disruptions with lane closures and machinery noise, the works are scheduled overnight to reduce inconvenience for motorists and residents,” she added.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, follow signage, and adhere to the temporary 40km/h speed limit for the safety of road workers and other road users.
