LOCAL SPORTING GROUPS IN MYALL LAKES RECEIVE FUNDING BOOST

Posted March 27th, 2026

Local sporting organisations across the Myall Lakes electorate will benefit from more than $48,000 in funding through the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program, helping clubs recover from recent challenges and continue providing opportunities for the community to stay active.

Member for Myall Lakes Tanya Thompson said the funding would support important projects that strengthen local clubs and ensure they can continue serving their members.

“Local sporting clubs are the backbone of our communities. They bring people together, promote healthy lifestyles and create opportunities for people of all ages to get involved,” Mrs Thompson said.

“Many clubs in our region have been doing it tough following flooding events, so it is fantastic to see this funding helping them rebuild equipment, repair facilities and continue hosting events that bring the community together.”

Successful recipients in the Myall Lakes electorate include:
Saltwater Malibu Club – $9,205 for The Big 3-0: Saltwater Malibu Fest
Taree Athletics Club – $15,440 for Flood Recovery
Taree Pistol Club – $5,508.72 for Flood Rebuild
Taree RSL Red Rovers – $18,797 for Flood Recovery: Restoring Essential Equipment

Mrs Thompson congratulated all successful applicants and thanked the volunteers who keep local sporting clubs running.

“Our local clubs rely heavily on volunteers and community support, and this funding will help ensure sport continues to be available and accessible across the Myall Lakes community,” she said.
