The call for a new playground and children’s fitness park at Hallidays Point Public School was reinforced today, with local Member for Myall Lakes Tanya Thompson visiting the school to back the community’s $300,000 Clubgrants Category 3 Infrastructure funding application.
The project, driven by the school’s P&C and supported by Active OOSH Hallidays Point, aims to deliver modern, inclusive play equipment and an outdoor fitness circuit to benefit both students and local families.
Mrs Thompson said the project would provide enormous benefits for the growing community of Hallidays Point.
“The school is a hub for local families, and this upgrade will support the wellbeing of children not only during school hours, but also after school and during school holidays.
“I’m proud to stand with the community in supporting this important project.”
Active OOSH Director Thomas De Courcy Dutton said, “We care for nearly 200 children through our OOSH program, and we see every day how important outdoor play is for their development.”
With enrolments expected to exceed 400 students within the next ten years, the project has been designed to meet future demand and ensure Hallidays Point remains a family-friendly place to live and learn.
