Posted January 9th, 2025

The Great Lakes United Football Club has successfully secured $17,000 in funding through the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership program to purchase and install two grandstands, providing much-needed seating for players, families, and fans.

Tanya Thompson, Member for Myall Lakes, welcomed the announcement of the upcoming installation.

“These grandstands will be a fantastic addition to the Great Lakes United Football Club and the broader community,” Mrs Thompson said.

“The new grandstands will enhance the experience of attending matches and tournaments for players and their supporters. Projects like this encourage more people to get involved in local sport.”

Great Lakes United Football Club Sponsorship/Grants Coordinator Kevin Stevens expressed his gratitude for the grant and the opportunities it will create for the club.

“The Great Lakes United Football Club appreciates the funding provided through the Community Building Partnership program,” said Mr Stevens.

“This funding enables us to install two grandstands on Boronia No. 1 Field, ensuring spectators have comfortable seating to enjoy our winter competitions and summer twilight tournaments once they are ready.”

The grandstands are set to be installed in early 2025 and will be ready for use in time for the 2026 winter season.
