The Forster Tennis Club has received new outdoor seating and tables, thanks to a $15,600 State Government grant, announced Tanya Thompson, Member for Myall Lakes.
Mrs Thompson said the funding was allocated under the 2023 Community Building Partnership Program.
“This funding contributed to the cost of replacing the outdoor seating and tables at the Lake Street tennis complex,” said Mrs Thompson.
“Projects like these not only improve our facilities but also encourage community engagement and active lifestyles.
“Congratulations on your successful application Forster Tennis Club, it’s fantastic to hear that the new seating has already been put to good use during the recent NSW Country Championships.”
Stephen Hill, Vice President of the Forster Tennis Club highlighted the need for this project “the existing aged outdoor furniture was in poor condition, beyond further maintenance and becoming a safety issue”.
“This project forms part of the Clubs ongoing plan to continuously improve the facility for use by participants and spectators from the local community and visitors to the region” Mr Hill continued.
“Bringing our facilities up to current sporting code standards is important to boost community utilisation and opportunities for healthy, social lifestyles.”
